Sunday Summaries|

Hey there,

So just to start off, I’ve been a big fan of reading lots of blog features where people talk about their week and what they’ve been up to for some time now and I’ve been wanting to start my own Sunday summaries on this blog for a while now and now that I am back freezing my arse off in the UK, I fully plan to love this blog and put a lot more time and effort into it than previously. I plan to keep a weekly schedule on here for my Sunday Summaries, high lighting what I have been up to that week for any nosy sods that might happen to stumble across my little corner of the internet. Even if the only person who reads this happens to be my mum. As I wrote on my previous Sunday Summariaries posts, once again this blog post shall be more of a wing it situation and we’ll see where I can go from here.

Also I apologise for the slow updates, not only on my Sunday Summaries series, but also throughout my blog in general. I have hit a slump recently and lost a bit of my mojo so the words just haven’t flown recently as well as they are capable of doing and honestly I haven’t really felt like writing much recently either, so there’s that. I have plans to go through my blog, tidy up, shorten, change and edit posts and the lay out within the next few weeks, so bare with me for the crappy, messy blog, for the time being at least.

Again I am late to the posting party, but I am going to blame a week lacking in creativity or motivation.

This week’s blog starts 5th – 11th June 2017.

This week consists of one bloody toe and a ruined pair of expensive Nike trainers, lazy co-workers, catty females, and one very beautiful, hippie beach wedding in the rain.

Gym Sessions and ab attempts.

I’m not even going to even attempt to write that I made any effort to run/gym/swim this week, sadly. I did feel fat after a couple of cooked breakies though, so maybe I should have attempted to at least do some sit-ups. I have still been a little bit sceptical about my toe, as it still hasn’t quite healed over, but the good news is, a trip to the doctors did confirm that my toe is on the mend so there is that. This week I do plan to get some home-workouts planned, plus perhaps a couple of runs and a few swims so there’s that. This week (at the time of writing) is a new week and all that, yada yada yada, let’s hope I am more successful. I have a few friends up for a swim, so let’s see if swimming works out too.

Work.

This week, like last week has been very busy, with enthusiastic all inclusive guests, keen to take advantage of their unlimited free drinks between the hours of 6-11. I didn’t work as much, as my bank account would have liked, especially as I am now learning to drive, which is an expensive hobby. But it has to be said, it has been nice to enjoy the nice and chilled out sunny evenings that have been afforded to me this week and within the next couple of weeks.  But yeah, the few nights I have worked this week, there were far too many enthusiastic oldies on the all inclusive drinks band. It was honestly none stop and I was pleased to chill out in bed after my shifts had ended as my feet were aching.  In fact I had an on going inner monologue consisting of Fuck Off every time I got a split second breather to try and restock the fridges as people were really annoying me constantly coming over for more free drinks as I couldn’t do anything else.😑😒

Getting out of the flunk.

Once again, I am in the flunk, which is becoming slightly boring to write. Although like I mentioned in last week’s post, I have now started my driving lessons. At the time of writing, which is slightly late to the party, I have now had two doubles with one booked in for tomorrow morning too, which is always fun and exciting. I just want to smash out lessons as fast as possible to get me on the road as soon as possible. So far I have started to grasp some of the basics and have already been tested with fairly busy roads and traffic lights etc. I even drove myself home for the first time ever.  I shall be keeping a record on this site of my progress, so, watch this space.

I would say I have been fairly busy with the whole job applications this week, although I definitely need to change my approach a bit and make my cover letters a little bit more personal. Oops. I have also received a few rejections on other job applications, so my confidence is going down on the daily.  One day though, I will have myself that banging salary job, which is the start to hopefully a successful career, I won’t give up just yet, it will happen for me because I know that I am going to be very successful.  I have started another new personal website, as I had already begun to lose a little bit of direction. This time I let the site build up something which matched my expectations and I like it a lot more than what I had pulled out previously. Watch this space, it will be a bit of work and a project to get it up and looking like something I will be proud to show potential employees. Just like last week, I am hoping that this new week will be productive – blogging  editing, tidying, scheduling and job applying, as well as working out and getting my abs back etc. I’d also really love to do some website editing and posting this week as I have lots of ideas and stuff written down, which need editing and posting up in due course.

Catch Ups.

This week I was fairly sociable, although more towards the end then the start to the week.

I had a lovely afternoon with Livy, for the first time considering she’s incredibly busy with lots of work hours, Slimming World, a musical that she’s in this week at our local theatre, driving lessons etc. We ended up having a late spontaneous 2pm breaky at our favourite breaky place, which I am always down for, which was followed by a reductions raid in Waitrose (7 items for £3.77, boom!), and a Netflix binge of Grace and Frankie (six episodes or something). It was very nice and chilled.

I had a lovely catch up with my friend Lydia and her adorable guide dog Bertie, who were down for the weekend as it was Lydia’s 25th birthday. I had lots of fun reminding her that she’s “well old now.” We went to The Baytree again, second day in a row and I ended up feeling slightly fat again. What can I say, two fry-ups and zero workouts can have that effect on you. It was really nice to catch up with Lydia, it’s just a shame that Liv couldn’t join us as Lydia threw the suggestion out there quite late in the day, and Liv has more of a busy life than me right now.  😛
I also met up with my old football team mate Nicole in town for a bite to eat and a cinema session. Once again we ended up at Maccys as Nicole is a big fan of the place, me not so much, where I added a chicken nuggets meal to my already fat from a fry-up stomach. Weirdly as I was walking into town in the sun I was actually craving a salad, but caved in for God knows what I was really eating as Nicole thought I was weird for wanting a salad in the middle of the Maccys queue. We also tried out this new cocktail bar, which I had been wanting to try for a while. The menu looked so awesome that it took me ages to narrow down all the drinks that I wanted to one. In the end I opted for a fruity, colourful cocktail (which didn’t look as cool as the photo in the menu), which was nice, but I should have gone for a more fruity one. Plus it had like half a can of tropical Red Bull in it, which I definitely didn’t want at 4pm in the afternoon – goodbye sleep! 😄  We did end up forking out £3 for a loyalty card which means happy hour whenever (I think!) and not just at a set time. So I am looking forward to getting down and involved in the menu at some point. I also finally got to see Wonder Woman, what a fantastic and inspiring film. I loved it. I also loved how badass she was and how insignificant men were in comparison. In fact, I already know that I need to see it again. Oh and for the record, move over Naya Rivera, I have a new girl crush holy fuck! I also have cheek bone envy. 😛

Paige and I also had a lovely day in Exeter, It was scorching though. ☀️ I think we should have gone to the beach then shopping. Thank God for air-con. We had an M&S picnic on the green (and I got all lame and excited over the food In there, seriously someone needs to tame me.) 🙈 I also bought a lovely top and boots in h&M. The girl didn’t remove the security tag off the boots though so I set off all the security alarms in lots of shops. Fun. Also, mortifying. Paige did some holiday shopping and I got dad a birthday and Father’s Day pressies. We also sweated our arses off. 😄 Sadly though, the main reason why I had agreed to go all the way over to Exeter was to finally get my iPhone looked at in the Apple Store. Only to realise I was half way down towards the train station that I forgotten to grab it from my bedside table as I am now so used to not having it on me. Ah well it looks like another trip to Exeter is on the cards then.

I ended up topping up my lovely Sunday Funday hanging out with the kids. Will and I hung out mucking around with his guitar, mum’s guitar & my recorder. I also picked up my old out of tune violin, which was such a throw back. I can’t even remember the last time I even looked at that bad boy, never mind pick it up and attempt to play it. I did find it very funny when Will played a ‘tune’ and I had to try and guess what it was. Sadly I didn’t quite get ELO’s – Mr Blue Sky.  We also all sang happy birthday to dad, Poppi had a hissy fit over having 3 tomatoes when she only wanted 2 and Will wanted to watch Little Mix and Ariana Videos, only he was way too embarrassed to admit that to dad and mum. Bless. 😄

Netflix.

After finishing off Thirteen Reasons why the other day, I gave Dear White People a try. I’m only two episodes in, but I like it so far. I like the characters and how sassy and opinionated they are, or some are anyway. I must admit at first glance I was a little bit unsure of the jokey commentary as I thought people might see the subject area as a bit of a joke and not to be taken seriously. Only to get half way through it and realise that it was a necessary element to be a little bit more lighthearted as otherwise people might actually get offended.

Also mum and I are still slowly making our way through Gilmore Girls season six, between my late night work shifts and mum struggling to stay awake for even one episode. We’re nearly on season seven now, which is fun. I especially enjoyed the night that mum and I had buttery toast, a hot juice (me)/drink (mum) each and and watched the show. It was all kinds of lovely. 😊

Reading.

This week, well last week as I am late to posting up last week’s summary, I managed to finish the book The Woman of Number 24, which although is good and eventually got very good, it didn’t quite win me over at the beginning. I have also just finished the book I was reading – One Moment One Morning, which was a book that I bought at Uni and have only just got round to reading. I really enjoyed it. Tonight I’m starting another new one. Exciting stuff.  I’m also hoping to get around to start reading Highway Code as I would like to be more like Hermione and less like Ron and get a head start so I’m not cramming it all in at the end.

Cooking.

I have cooked for myself a little bit this week, and have been back shopping in the discount section of Waitrose again, which is always fun.  I also continued with my new found favourite veggie finger wraps a couple of times, which have been a top lunch idea.

I topped off my lovely afternoon with Liv by having a rare opportunity to cook myself some dinner – a banging sweet and sour chicken. I also made myself a huge bowl of pasta and made a huge mess in the garden in the process. And I still haven’t used my new George Foreman grill yet, although I am looking forward to playing with my new toy. That and my coffee maker which I bought from Currys when I worked there, back in 2015 before I went to Australia for a year. I have quite a few nights off work this week, and not only am I looking forward to a rare sit-down meal, but also, to actually cook and play around with recipes.

Extras.

Once again, I have enjoyed picking up lots of random bargains from trips to Waitrose, including mango, strawberries, veggies etc. Oh and an even bigger bonus is, I now own a Waitrose card, which means I get free teas and coffee every time I make a purchase. It’s oddly enjoyable walking out of the store, cup in one hand, shopping bag in the other.

I managed to finally book the Megabus for my trip to London for £14.50 (each way) in a few weeks. BOOM. Now all we need to do is book a relatively cheap room for a few nights. Next up we need to sort out Harry Potter World Tour, book theatre tickets and other fun stuff. Wheeeey. 😀

There was a day that I accidentally knocked my nose ring out, and lost the ring some where. It’s a sad day when you lose a piercing to the carpet. 💔   Luckily mum came home at 6 something and rammed the piercing back into my face so all good. It wasn’t as easy getting it in as I remember though.

I went to the Doctors to get my toe looked at again as it’s been a few weeks now. For the record, it went ok and I have nothing to worry about. She said it seems to be healing nicely. She was friendly, which was nice.

There was the day that I used my gym tip money from work to treat myself to a cupcake as I was craving one. Clearly life is all about the balance. 😉   😄 To be fair, no regrets, Jammy Dodger cup cake was the bomb.

Liverpool.

Well the 2016/17 football season ended the other week, so unsurprisingly there’s not much news at the moment and it’s still too early for any big transfers to have taken place just yet. It looks like Liverpool are very close to signing this Winger from Roma though, as early as Tuesday this week. Exciting times. I love the transfer window, especially if Liverpool have an exciting one.

So yes, usual ending to this blog. I plan on going through my blog and tidying this rambly mess up, adding in the photos etc. So no judging for the time being. This blog is a work in progress.

Until next time,
Love, hugs and pugs.

Sunday Summaries|one bloody Nike trainer, annoying lazy co-workers, a lack of motivation, joining the Thirteen Reasons Why bandwagon and one hippie beach wedding in the rain.

This week’s blog starts 5th – 11th June 2017.

This week consists of one bloody toe and a ruined pair of expensive Nike trainers, lazy co-workers, catty females, and one very beautiful, hippie beach wedding in the rain.

Gym Sessions and ab attempts.

Let’s just say I started the week with good intentions to get my arse back in the gym, I mean, I even brought my gym kit with me and lugged it around Bristol on public transport on the Sunday and Monday morning in the pissing down rain as I was just that dedicated. Sadly though I only managed one gym and swim session this week, instead of the three that I had started the week off so strongly hoping to manage. I partly blame the very apparent lack of motivation for anything in my life this week,  but also, because I ran on the treadmill for my usual forty minutes and soon discovered that my sore toe, had decided to bleed hard, all the way through my beautiful expensive Nike running trainers that I had bought with my first pay check in Australia and after that, did not trust it to behave again. This week (at the time of writing) is a new week and all that, yada yada yada, let’s hope I am more successful. My bestie Liv has a pretty free week this week, which makes a nice rare change, and wants to make the most of my free swimming, so we’ll see how things pan out.

Work.

This week has been very busy, with enthusiastic all inclusive guests, keen to take advantage of their unlimited free drinks between the hours of 6-11. In fact for the last two days that I worked, I swear I collected MOST of the glasses in the restaurant, which has been knackering in all honesty. I really could have used a hand, and no I’m not complaining, I know two people were needed on the other bar, but, I am going to be honest, one co-worker in particular this week, has really done my head in as I generally feel, and have done for a while now, that she doesn’t really pull her weight. Fair enough, when she was trapped serving on the bar, whilst I was stuck on all the glasses, but to then go off and have food, or play on her phone, whilst I am stuck trying to sort out and clean a shit load of glasses, as well as serve customers, and refused to get the final few glasses for me, was a huge piss take. Especially as the day before she wouldn’t let me grab any food, and then I missed out on eating as the chefs had cleared away earlier than usual. Honestly, she’s been doing my head in and it’s making work a lot more tiring than it should be. Oh and I hate the fact that she doesn’t clear away her plate and is always leaving it for other’s to sort out, is bloody annoying. Especially as we walk through the kitchen to get to the other bar, and it’s really not hard to scrape a plate and leave it on the side. Anyway, enough of that, work has been alright, other than her laziness and my body aching from all the glasses. Hopefully work isn’t too bad this week too and I’m not left with all the glasses AGAIN. Oh and I really need to stop winking at one of the duty managers/my boss, yes he’s hot and I do have a little crush on him, but one night I kept accidentally winking at him all night and that’s just embarrassing. He occasionally winks too, but that’s definitely part of his charm and charisma, something that I definitely don’t have.

Getting out of the flunk.

Once again, I am in the flunk, which is becoming slightly boring to write. I have managed to organise and book driving lessons for the up-coming week (which is this week now at the time of writing and posting), which is exciting. I can’t wait to smash out lessons as fast as possible to get me on the road as soon as possible. I start tomorrow (Tuesday), so we shall see. I shall be keeping a record on this site of my progress, so, watch this space.
Sadly I haven’t really applied for many jobs this week, as nothing much has really come up, although I didn’t really look either, so swings and round about. I definitely could have done more I suppose. Sadly two, I also received a few rejections on other job applications, so my confidence is going down on the daily.  One day though, I will have myself that banging salary job, which is the start to hopefully a successful career, I won’t give up just yet, it will happen for me because I know that I am going to be very successful.  Hopefully this up and coming week be productive – blogging  editing, tidying, scheduling and job applying, as well as working out and getting my abs back etc. I’d also really love to do some website editing and posting this week as I have lots of ideas and stuff written down, which need editing and posting up in due course.

Catch Ups.

This week  once again I haven’t been all that sociable, by my standards anyway.

I had a nice Sunday evening, minus the end of the day with the holiday arrangements, in Bristol with my very good friends Paige, Nastassja and Craig. We had the most awesome burgers in this diner, complete with a free cocktail for Craig and I as they forgot to charge us, boom. I especially enjoyed the novelty paper bag that they put our drinks in, American style. We also enjoyed happy hour cocktails in Turtle Bay and watching most of the Ariana Grande One Love Benefit concert, which was almost as good as the real thing. I’ll ignore the fact that yes I did fail to get tickets for it. Once again fuck you Ticketmaster.

I enjoyed watching Pirates of the Caribbean Five with Abi, complete with a shitty Harvester. Seriously what the hell have Harvester done? They used to be so good. Anyway, you can’t beat Strawberry Pepsi I suppose and thank god Abi had discounts for there as I would have hated to have paid any more money for that shitty meal.

The salad and the strawberry Pepsi were the only decent thing about that meal, shame Harvester, you used to be such a gem of a food chain.
18951003_10154368458362331_5297003884194650928_n.jpg
Because I am cool.

But yes, great film, it was nice to see that the latest Pirates movie got their comic value and decent story lines back as the past couple of films have lacked in both and therefore have sucked compared to the first two. Both Abi and I were laughing our heads off throughout the duration of the film and Jack was as loveable and as drunk as ever. Oh and that plot twist at the end may just hurt your heart. Not bad for a dark and wet Monday, after rushing around on public transport, bleeding through your gym shoe on the treadmill, and struggling up the big hill in the pissing down rain with heavy bags, especially for £3.50. Bargain.

On the Saturday mum, dad and I went on a road trip, loaded with a shit load of layers and clothes, for a wedding in the rain on a beach. Basically a while ago, my mum asked me if I fancied attending my friend Rosie’s mum Kath’s wedding, with both her and my dad. Of course, I had completely forgotten that I would be spending most of my Saturday on a beach, hiking up and down hills and seeking shelter in a little tent thing pressed up against a shit load of other people. Luckily though, I happened to have both Saturday and Sunday off work, so I was able to attend, and honestly, it was a beautiful afternoon and totally Kath and Jason all over. It was lovely and the rain had even held off during the service on the beach. I had never been to a wedding wearing a bright pink coat before, but needless to say it was very much appreciated for warmth and dryness. Also, as mentioned I had two servings of the nicest home made paella. Beautiful day all round. It was also wonderful to catch up with a few of my childhood friends and their parents, all of whom I had known since I was very young.

To the untrained eye, this just looks like a mother and daughter trip to the beach on a Saturday afternoon in the rain…

Netflix.

This week I have finally finished Thirteen Reasons why, and honestly I get the hype, it is SO good. I started this show the other day/ week, and yes I know 1) I am very late to the party and 2) I definitely could have binged on it a lot quicker, but you know as mentioned before I have to share the TV and work it around dad’s schedule, so it takes a lot longer to get through shows.Yes I know it’s got some very strong themes of sexual assault/ suicide etc, but I really like how the show highlights some taboo areas, which should be spoken about more, and the acting is suburb. I was hooked from the very first ‘tape’. In a way, I’m sad that I have watched all ‘thirteen’ reasons why, as I was enjoying everything ravelling. It has definitely made me think about all the times I may have been the cause of someone hurting in someway, trivial or not at the time. I just hope there’s a season two now, which I would like to think there will be, as the show has been left open.

Also mum and I are still slowly making our way through Gilmore Girls season six, between my late night work shifts and mum struggling to stay awake for even one episode.

Now that I have finished Thirteen Reasons Why, I am very much open to trying a new show on Netflix this week. So far it’s looking like Teen Wolf or Once, two shows I have always wanted to watch. We shall see though, what show eventually takes my fancy.

Reading.

This week, well last week as I am late to posting up last week’s summary, I managed to finish the book that I was re-reading, or re-reading in an attempt to finally finish it, And The Mountains Echoed, which is by one of my favourite authors Khaled Hosseini. It was good, but no where near as good as his other two books though. I also read Talking As Fast As I Can, the autobiography of Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls, which arrived from Amazon the other day. Well I finished most with the exception of the final chapter about the new series, as advised by Lauren herself, to avoid if you haven’t watched it yet, which I haven’t done. Honestly I was laughing out loud, that woman is a hilarious treasure to the entire world. I am also half way through my book, The Woman of Number 24, which although is good, and has a decent plot line, it hasn’t quite captured me yet, but it’s readable. Hopefully next week I’ll smash my way through  books again like I have been lately as I have started slowing down a bit. Saying that though, I start my driving lessons this week, which means I will have to also factor in reading up the Highway Code as I would like to be more like Hermione and less like Ron.

Cooking.

I have cooked for myself a little bit this week, and have been back shopping in the discount section of Waitrose again, which is always fun. I have also enjoyed trying out their discounted soups, which seem to be packed full of flavour, before and after work, as I have made an effort to make sure I stuff my face with food before work just in case I end up not eating again. I especially liked Waitrose’s new Pea and Mint soup and their pumpkin pasta, which I decided to treat myself to the other day having had my eye on it for months. I also continued with my new found favourite veggie finger wraps, which have been a top lunch idea. And I still haven’t used my new George Foreman grill yet, although I am looking forward to playing with my new toy. I have quite a few nights off work this week, and not only am I looking forward to a rare sit-down meal, but also, to actually cook and play around with recipes.

Extras.

This week I did a very adult thing and voted, which is always a weird thrill, which fizzles out as soon as you get to your local polling station. As an anti-Tori, I tactically voted for Lib Dems as they were our town’s best hope against a Tory seat. I am team Corbyn or red, not that politics interests me all that much. I know I am supposed to care as I not only a trained journalist, but a human being too, which wants fairness for everyone, but I hate the fact that the discussion of politics literally leads to passionate debating, and no one shutting up. Which is why I always groan when people bring up politics at social gatherings, because it is like opening a can of wormholes and you never hear the end of it. The way I see it, no party is absolutely perfect, and we’re all fucked anyway, but hey, with the result, at least the Tories have lost a hold on their power – about time eh! And those poor foxes will be left alone bow.

I enjoyed playing football down the park as usual with my nephew Will, and some random kid called Charlie in a Barcelona shirt, who also wanted to play. I felt terrible when I accidentally kicked it just that little bit too hard and winded poor little Will. He’s an absolute little cutie though, and battled on like a trooper. I now need to get him the sweets as promised. Did I mention he is one of my favourite little things in the world, he’s my little mate. Actually I love all three of my niece and nephews and it was nice to chill on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon after our trip to the park to watch The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe. Little kids don’t half ask a lot of questions during films though lol.

Liverpool.

Well the 2016/17 football season ended the other week, so unsurprisingly there’s not much news at the moment and it’s still too early for any big transfers to have taken place just yet. Although Liverpool managed to allegedly get into a little trouble over approaching a Southampton player, we also signed two players and didn’t sign them the next day, which is bloody typical of Liverpool. Still it was a good statement of intent this summer and I have a good feeling that we may have a successful transfer window.

So yes, usual ending to this blog. I plan on going through my blog and tidying this rambly mess up, adding in the photos etc. So no judging for the time being. This blog is a work in progress. Also I’m off to Bristol now, so I shall be including a few updates of my afternoon/night with my besties + Craig, holiday planning and cocktail drinking at TGI’s, so watch this space.

Until next time,
Love, hugs and pugs.

Sunday Summaries|Zac Efron’s abs, happy discounts, bloody wrists, failed ticket attempts,

This week’s blog starts 29th May – 4th June 2017.

This week consists of lots of walks, photography opportunities, a lack of productivity (work wise), too many glasses at work and hobbling around with a sore toe.

Gym Sessions and ab attempts.

Again I have been shit at even attempting to gym or workout. After last Sunday’s hectic night at work and hearing customers telling me about the fact that the whole pool was booked out and everyone was frustrated after traveling for hours to get to the hotel, they couldn’t use the hotel’s facilities, I decided to avoid the hotel at all costs this week, apart  from when I had work of course. I did try some ab workouts at home, but had to stop as my toe was making planking impossible. I feel fairly fit from a job where you’re constantly on your feet running about collecting glasses and lifting anyway, so I suppose at least I’m not at a job at the moment where I’m sat at a desk for hours on an end. Although I do want one of course, but by the time those opportunities come around, I shall be making sure to gym at least three times a week to compensate so I don’t get flabby.  Next week is a new week and all that, yada yada yada, let’s hope I am more successful. I am off to Bristol today, and I plan to hit the gym tomorrow morning when I get back to the Bay, (I’m even bringing my gym stuff with me, dedication). So yes gyming and/or running this week as well as home workouts are on the cards. Watch this space.

Work.

Work has been fairly busy this week being fully booked out with holiday makers and the half term holidays. Luckily though, no all inclusive, not that I mind it, but sometimes it’s nice to not have that on. We’ve had a big group of Germans in this week, who like to eat late and order lots of drinks, which makes our job harder as we’re waiting around for lots of glasses at the end. Usually we’d have all the restaurant glasses finished by around 9 at the latest. In fact I was running the other bar a few times, and I had to keep rushing out to the dishwasher in between serving lots of customers drinks, which made my job a bit harder. I definitely prefer having most of the glasses from the restaurant done so I can focus more on the bar. In fact I ended up cutting my wrist when a Carling glass shattered all over me, and I didn’t have time to cover it, so had to try and angle my wrist away from the customers and try not to bleed everywhere when pouring a few pints. Health and safety and all that. The Germans were polite and nice though, and tipped very well, I made £6.50 from them, and a cute, seemingly deaf old man, which is £1 away from an hour’s pay for me. (Crap pay I know, I’m working on it!)  The waiting staff weren’t a fan of having those tables though, as they ended up having to leave a lot later than everyone else.

I had a big group of singers in, who sat at the tables singing all night. That was nice and very different to the usual sounds of mindless chitchat and the TV, which you usually get. I especially liked their version of Les Mis – I Dreamed A Dream and You’ll Never Walk Alone. They were nice though, very polite. In fact I came in an hour earlier with Mark as they were eating dinner earlier than usual as they were performing somewhere. Mark originally thought it was the Germans, and he wanted a hand with the drink orders. As it turned out, I wasn’t really needed as between Mark and myself, we did two tables. It was the easiest hour’s work though. Sadly, that night was very busy for me, I ended up staying until midnight, as well as walking to work as mum and dad were working. I worked out that I had been standing up for eight hours straight by the end of the night and my feet were absolutely throbbing.  I also got very tired at the end and accidentally spilled a beer all over the bar when I pulled a beer mat without looking. That meant that Mark and I then had to clean all the glasses on the top row, plus clean the row quickly etc. That extra work was not necessary when it was almost closing. I basically gave my manager extra work to do.😳 Thank god we were on top of everything that night.

Getting out of the flunk.

Yes I am still in the ‘flunk,’ which is getting very repetitive isn’t it. Although I have applied for a few jobs, mostly around Liverpool actually this week, so I do feel better. I have also been writing this week, which is a start. I just need a tidy up job and to organise stuff so I can start getting my writing up and running. That’s some progression I suppose, I am still a long way off from where I want to be of course, but small steps always lead to the bigger picture, so happy days. One day, I will have myself that banging salary job, which is the start to hopefully a successful career, I won’t give up just yet, it will happen. Hopefully this up and coming week will continue to be productive – blogging  editing, tidying, scheduling and job applying, as well as working out and getting my abs back etc. I’d also really love to do some website editing and posting this week. I have plans to be getting on with.

Catch Ups.

This week I haven’t been all that sociable, by my standards anyway.

On the Monday, I really enjoyed a cheeky trip to the cinema in the afternoon with Abi, especially as the film involved Zac Efron’s abs. 😏 Basically we went to see the new Baywatch film, which as enjoyable as it was, the film was very predictable, although it did have some very funny moments in it. Also Zac played a dooshbag, which kind of didn’t make him as attractive, as in the character, not Zac. Still I enjoyed all the abs and hot bodies on display throughout the film, so there’s that. Like Abi said, as good as it was to watch, it’s not the kind of film that you’d rush to buy on DVD, although if it was on the TV I’d watch it or on a plane etc.

I also had a nice and lazy afternoon with my best friend Livy, who was knackered after a long morning of rushing around to buy the last of the stuff for her boyfriend’s birthday the next day. We ended up eating lots of discounted healthy salady stuff from Waitrose and watching Pirates of the Caribbean Four all afternoon, and Liv was battling not to fall asleep as she’d gotten pretty comfy on the sofa, and we’d closed the curtains and the film is quite dark, and it was bright outside. I was so full of salad and avocado by the end and I felt bloody brilliant, the only downside was, I was SO not feeling having to get ready for work afterwards. Such a kill joy.

I was supposed to catch up with my friend Luke, but he bailed on me (AGAIN), and I was also supposed to meet up with Paige on the Friday, but after my horrendous long shift on the Thursday (the 8 hours on my feet one), I ended up sleeping in until midday as I was knackered and we missed each other, but saying that Paige and I are going to Bristol today, along with Nastassja, so I’ll be seeing them today. (To be updated in the next few days).

Netflix.

This week I finally got around to watching the last three episodes and catching up and finishing off Riverdale. Ooh I wasn’t expecting that. I have also just started off watching Thirteen Reasons Why, and man it is SO good. I can see why there’s been so much hype to the show. Although I am only on episode two as I have to fit it around Dad and seemingly my niece and nephews who come over randomly and want to watch Finding Dory/talk a lot over it, I am really enjoying the show and am already hooked. I can’t wait to watch more. Of course I have also been watching Gilmore Girls, although it’s easier to just watch it with mum in the evenings, on a rare night off, which slows progress of course, but I’m enjoying watching it with mum. I just wished we’d watched it together from the beginning as mum’s only seen random episodes of season 3,4,5 and now 6, which we started last night. I’ve decided I’m going to introduce her to Orange Is The New Black next once we’ve finished Gilmore Girls and The Revival.

Reading.

I actually haven’t read that much I am ashamed to say this week, I’m not too sure why, but I will be getting back into it, as I have lots of books by my bed, as well as other’s in the post, and on both mine and mum’s book shelves, which I am excited to get stuck into. I’m now re-reading And The Mountains Echoed, which is by one of my favourite authors Khaled Hosseini. I am enjoying it so far. As noted before, I have many ideas of reviews for books that I have recently read to come, so watch this space. I was very excited to receive my book – Talking As Fast As I Can. Lauren Graham from Gilmore Girls Autobiography, which I purchased off Amazon. I am a big fan of Lauren Graham and I have only heard good things about this book.

Cooking.

This week I have had a fair few evenings off work, which has given me a rare opportunity to cook a little bit more. I enjoyed making myself these very nice vegetable and haloumi skewers with a Greek herb sauce, discounted in Waitrose along with rice and couscous (which was also in the reduced section in Waitrose). I also enjoyed making myself a very nice stirfry – from Waitrose’s reduced section haha.  I also continued with my new found favourite veggie finger wraps, which have been a top lunch idea. I still haven’t used my new George Foreman grill yet. I tried to treat myself to some fancy turkey or lamb from Waitrose the other day for a Friday treat, just so I could be a little different, as well as to experiment with my grill, but it was unsurprisingly too expensive for my taste. Watch this space though, I’m looking forward to playing with my new toy, as well as being healthy again.

Extras.

One day I randomly woke up early so I ended up deciding to try and get tickets for Ariana’s benefit concert much earlier than planned, which ended up with me since 6:50ish having lots of tabs open on Safari, which just gets confusing after a while. I ended up stressing out as it was getting later in the morning and I still hadn’t joined any queues. It turned out being a waste of time as despite the fact that I had been on the websites since 6:50am, I still managed to get tickets for Ebony and myself to go to the concert. In all honesty I would have been better off staying in bed. What a waste of time. Also, FUCK YOU TICKETMASTER, for changing your ticketing policy queuing.

This week I have enjoyed picking up lots of random bargains from trips to Waitrose, including mango, strawberries, veggies and my new favourite caramel surprises.

I was disappointed that mum refused to pick me up on her way to Sainsburies as it was the morning after that horrifically long shift and my feet were still slightly throbbing. My mum is fantastic at being there for me, so I hate complaining too much, but I honestly was so tired that I couldn’t face going food shopping at 9am, having been up since about 2am and on my feet for eight hours straight the night before. Big up dad for accepting my shopping list with grace  though and saving my tired ass so I could have a lie in and recover.

I had a long overdue fun video call with Lucy, one afternoon, which was fun. I missed hanging out in her room in Australia. In fact I really miss hanging out with her properly. To be honest, we chat everyday so we didn’t have much to chat about as we both know the ins and outs of each other’s lives, but it was fun to chat to her regardless.

Last week I treated myself to the first two Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks on Amazon as they were the cheapest ones that I could find. I also bought the third Pirates one, but issues with my card meant that they had to refund me as the CD had already been sold. Never mind, next time. Anyway it was bloody awesome listening to both soundtracks, they are genius. Also I know which scene in the film is playing at the song, especially Harry Potter. They made the walk to work a lot more interesting and I loved lying in bed listening to Harry Potter, so magical.

I finally got around to booking my train tickets for the afternoon and night in Bristol for tonight, which I’m kind of glad that I was too lazy, as I bought them much later than planned, but saved myself some money in the process. If I’d bought myself a ticket the day before, I would have paid an extra tenner at least. In the end my laziness meant I was able to treat myself to an £8 ticket for the next day, meaning that I ended up spending £26ish instead of £36+, fun.
I finally managed to get my iPad updated, which was much needed trust me. I had been trying for a couple of weeks, but couldn’t as I didn’t have enough storage space. It ended up taking ages, but I am so glad that I can finally get apps back that I haven’t seen in a while like Instagram, Facebook, Timehop etc. Small things eh. I had missed them though.

Liverpool.

Well the 2016/17 football season ended the other week, so unsurprisingly there’s not much news at the moment and it’s still too early for any big transfers to have taken place just yet. Liverpool did sign Dom Solanke from Chelsea, which was quite funny as his older brother went to the same university as me. Although I never really spoke to him, I always found him attractive. He knew it though, so I didn’t really bother. Also, my team mate and really good pal Becky fancied him so it was always a no go from the start. He looks like a good player though, but he’s only 19, so I reckon Klopp will slowly introduce him like he has been doing with young players Alexander-Arnold, Woodburn, Wilson etc. I’m sure Klopp has a plan though with the youngsters as he’s been giving them plenty of opportunities this season with the first team, I trust him. I can’t wait for the start of the new season and all the summer friendlies etc to come though, it will be a long couple of months without my boys.

Sunday Summaries|Playing in the sunshine, happy snapping, dodging old people in the pool and one sore toe.

This week’s blog starts 15th until 21st  of May  2017.

This week consists of lots of walks, photography opportunities, a lack of productivity (work wise), too many glasses at work and hobbling around with a sore toe.

Gym Sessions and ab attempts.

Once again, as I write this, it’s been a shocking attempt to workout this week, and I am ashamed to admit that. Although, I have hurt my toe, which has made walking difficult, and also planking. I did have many intentions to spend this week getting into a much needed fitness, gym and workout routine. But, once again I have sucked I am sorry to say. I did make a morning swim session with Paige this week though, which included a load of lengths, which left me feeling great, but tired. Next week is a new week and all that, yada yada yada, let’s hope I am more successful. It’s half term next week, so I’m not sure if I can swim yet, but, if my toe heals enough that I can comfortably run on it, then I know for a fact that I shall either be gyming or running this week. Watch this space.

Work.

Work has been indifferent this week, but thankfully not as busy as the last couple of weeks. As much as I like the money of course, who wouldn’t, it was nice to have a few days which weren’t as intense or long. It’s still been fairly busy though. It’s been lovely and sunny the past few days, which has been lovely when outside, but, horrifically stifling at work. In fact I ended up practically begging Mark to remove my tie as I just couldn’t deal with that thing.

I’ve been quite frustrated with the fact that I feel as if I was left to carry a lot of the glasses by myself for the past few days, which I don’t mind, but it gets knackering, and frustrating when you feel like others aren’t pulling their weight. I won’t name names here, but there’s one person in particular who has annoyed me all week, stomping around complaining that it’s too hot, even though the’ve left early both days that I worked with them, and didn’t really bother to help out with the glasses. In fact I felt like there was one night where all I literally did for my five hour shift was collect glasses none stop and that everyone just expected me to do that all night. I kept having people ask me to get them, even though I was knackered. Honestly I was so hot, tired and over glasses by midnight at the end of my shift.

The customers were very nice this week, although, there was one pervy old man with a walking stick who kept hitting on me all night telling me that “I was lovely”, and “if he didn’t have a wife,” and I’m pretty sure something about smashing my back door.

There was also this funny incident, well I thought it was funny,  where I had accidentally smashed two glasses in the restaurant in front of some old ladies. One of them asked me if I’d had an accident, and I kind of had to stop myself laughing as it sounded like I had peed my pants or something.

Getting out of the flunk.

I’m still in the ‘flunk’, after weeks now, which is frustrating and annoying as it is hampering my progression to get forward in life. I really wish I could sit here and write that I had a productive week full of work outs, blogging and writing sessions, job applications, tidying up blogs and my new website, getting in touch with people regarding journalism work etc. Sadly it hasn’t happened for me yet, but it will. I am determined. In fact, I am determined to get that banging salary job that’s somewhere in my future, that I am badly craving.  I just need the little bit of luck that I am inwardly screaming out for, which I know will come my way soon. As well as getting out of this ‘flunk’ and working my ass off to get. It will happen.  However, this week I shall hopefully have a more productive week of blogging  editing, tidying, scheduling and job applying, as well as working out and getting my abs back. I’d also really love to do some website editing and posting this week. I have plans to be getting on with.

Catch Ups.

This week it’s been beautifully sunny and I have had some very lovely times walking around the Bay in the glorious sunshine with my good friend Paige, taking in the fresh air and sea views, just like old times. Oh and snapping away with my camera, again just like old times.

We also enjoyed making the most of my staff perks and swimming for free – I felt great after all those laps and exercise, dodging all these old ladies taking over the pool, as well as discounted lunch, walking around Rock Walk and seeing the ‘other’ side of the bay.

The horrifically long and steep staircase feat. Paige.

It’s been very nice to catch up with a more stress free Paige now, after she had a long few months finishing off her first year of Uni. I especially enjoyed sitting on our bench up at Thatcher’s rock, taking in the beautiful deep, turquoise sea, and watching the world go by.

I also managed a cinema trip with Abi, to see A Dog’s Purpose, which was a film that I saw in Australia, which I knew that I needed to see, despite the fact that I knew it would hit me in all the feels, (which it did by the way!) We managed to see the only showing of the day, and one of the final two, which was great going as we both happened to have a spare night, and we both managed to get double discount on our Movie Magic cards as it was two for one. We’re getting our Efron on next week and watching Zac running around a beach in the new Baywatch movie, which is exciting. I also managed to see Liv for a couple of hours for a quick natter up the Downs in the warm glow of the evening sunshine, before I had to go to work, which sucked as I just wanted to stay and play in the sun. Actually saying that, being up the Downs in the late evening, golden sun, made me think twice about what I want to do for my future, as I want my summer evenings back, not to be stuck behind a dark and dingy bar. Watch this space.

Netflix.

Once again, Gilmore Girls. Although, I haven’t been on Netflix so much this week, instead choosing to go and play in the sunshine instead. I still have a load more TV shows on my planned list, so hopefully I’ll still have plenty of time to have a long over due catch up on all these shows that I would really like to watch at some point.

Reading.

Once again, getting back into reading is one of the best decisions I made and starting and ending my day in a comfy marshmallow is a top idea.

This week I finished Me, You and Tiramisu and Lion and tonight I am planning to re-start the book: And The Mountains Echoed, which is by one of my favourite authors Khaled Hosseini, and has incidentally been on my shelf for the past couple of years half read with every intention of finishing. As noted before, I have many ideas of reviews for books that I have recently read to come, so watch this space.

Cooking.

This week I have had a fair few evenings off work, which has given me a rare opportunity to cook a little bit more. I enjoyed cooking some pasta and I for myself the other night, and trying out some veggie burgers, which I picked up for 50p in the reduced section of Waitrose. I also continued with my new found favourite veggie finger wraps, which have been a top lunch idea.

Extras.

This week I have enjoyed picking up lots of random bargains from trips to Waitrose, including mango, strawberries, veggies and my new favourite caramel surprises. I also finally ordered my Waitrose card, which couldn’t sound more middle aged woman if I tried.

I discovered from a trip to the doctors that I have a slightly infected toe, which has explained the hobbling around. I also saved money on my prescription by just buying it outright in the chemist rather than pay £8 something for my prescription from the doctor thanks to the nice guy who worked there. The good news is though, whilst I was there I made the most of the opportunity to get my moles checked out, which is something that I have been meaning to do since I got back from Australia. As it turned out, I had nothing to worry about so that was fun.

I treated myself to a discounted little George Foreman grill in Sainburies, and now I feel like a ‘proper’ adult. I’m excited to try it out and a few of the included recipes in the instruction manual within the next few weeks/months. Watch this space.

Liverpool.

Well last week was the end of the 2016/17 football season, so this week is my first weekend in a while without the enjoyment of the Premier League. I miss it already, but never mind at least there’s the excitement of the transfer window. I wonder what the big stories will be this season. I have been avoiding the fact that they have been in Australia this week though, as I’m not there. It was funny looking at the videos and photos on the club’s social media account though.

*Small update:

I had a horrendous night at work on Sunday night. We were very busy as expected as it is the half term week at school, but, we were also very understaffed. In fact, there was only three of us bar staff on, when the hotel was completely booked out and over 400 in for dinner. This meant that with Colin off to open the other bar, there was only two people in to make orders, get drinks, serve on the other bar, collect glasses etc. We ended up being complained at for slow service, complained at by some of the waiting staff for not collecting their table’s glasses (when they just wanted to quickly clean their section and go home), and was frantically running around trying to sort everything out all night. Horrid. I’m so glad I’m not working tonight. 😉 I also had a nice afternoon playing football with the niece and nephews, plus dad in the garden. Although I’m not sure if it was good for my toe or not, and watching The Incredibles. 🙂

So yes, usual ending to this blog. I plan on going through my blog and tidying this rambly mess up, adding in the photos etc. So no judging for the time being. This blog is a work in progress.

Until next time,
Love, hugs and pugs.

Sunday Summaries| Ants in my bum, heart attacks at work, duvet snuggles in a elephant covered marshmallow and hanging out with horses.

I have plans to go through my blog, tidy up, shorten, change and edit posts and the lay out within the next few weeks, so bare with me for the crappy, messy blog, for the time being at least.

This week’s blog starts 8th until 14th  of May  2017.

This week consists of broken and annoying iPhones, lack of working out, chewing gum on seats, ants up my ass, lots of Gilmore Girls and heart attacks at work.
Gym Sessions and ab attempts.

This week, sadly gym attempts to be none existent, although, I did start the week with every attempt of giving it a really good shot this week. I’m not too sure why I lacked the motivation, but I did. I have a feeling time of the month may have played a role in it. I did enjoy a workout in the sun in the garden though, which was rather enjoyable, and warm, for a change. It was even worth shaking the dirt and bits of garden off my towel for the rest of the week.

I did manage: 3x 20 sec planks.

3×20 crunches. 3×20 squats. 15 sec plank, 9 sec side plank x2, 8 crunches x2. 3x 20 sec planks, 3×20 crunches, 3×20 squats, 15 sec plank, 9 sec side plank x2, 8 crunches x2, 6 burpees x2, 6 lunges, 6 lunges, 6 calf raises (both legs) x2.

20 sit ups x3.

15 sec plank.

Which isn’t a too bad effort in the long run. I just wish I had been disciplined enough to continue throughout the rest of the week. However, tomorrow is Monday and that is the start of a new week.

I also removed a few ants out of my bum crack, or near enough anyway. I think a few had decided to take a wrong turn. Anyway, no were hurt in the process, and none went up my actual butt crack.

Work.

Work this week has been interesting to say the least. We had 300 odd people in for all inclusive, which meant no normal restaurant service. That was an interesting change at the start of the week, only by the end of it got kind of boring. At least with normal restaurant service we get to go around being busy for a few hours. I was with Colin on the Monday, and between us for the first hour I was there, we’d done two glasses of wine.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy was, we had this huge tab on for the all inclusive, instead of the usual getting them to scribble on endless receipts, which made things easier and quicker to take down the queues quicker. In theory that should be make life much easier, however,  one night I gave myself the biggest heart attack. I literally felt physically sick and like I was about to pass out as a result, and no, I am not exaggerating here. Basically  in short, for the whole week everyone’s pretty much being saying: “Whatever you do, do not print the tab receipt.” I managed to print out a receipt of some of the tab whilst trying to get out of the tab to give some customers their change.  I then subsequently had a break down in front of the customers as I knew the managers would be majorly pissed off at me. Luckily though I didn’t manage to fuck up anything after all. But, I definitely managed to get myself feeling all kinds of flustered.  I blame some customers who decided to confuse me with multiple orders and mates just before hand as I was already flustered enough. I was pleased that by the weekend, I had Friday off, that it was back to normal, almost. This up and coming week is also going to be super busy and long.

Getting out of the flunk.

I’m still in the ‘flunk,’ and not getting as far forward or as productive as I would like to have been. I wish I could sit here and write that I was very productive this week, but that would be lying. I’m still a little emotionally drained, and still craving that banging salary job that’s somewhere in my future, I just need the little bit of luck that I am inwardly screaming out for. Last week I wrote that I had a successful meeting with a couple of ladies about the possibility of doing a little bit of experience of social media for a company, which is a charity that regimes horses, a few times over the up and coming summer months. One day this week, luckily it wasn’t on my day off,  I got up early to spend a day on one of their farms, with a group in on an animal management at one of the colleges, getting to know a little bit more about their company. Although it was a long day, as I had to quickly hurry back from there to go to work until 11:30pm. I’m still not back into one of those long day routines, but it’s something I’m weirdly looking to getting stuck back into one of those routines, I rather enjoyed it. I got to look at and stroke pretty horses, drink lots of cups of tea, watch them groom horses and pick up horse shit and eat a rather nice veggie breakfast. Sadly though, I received an email a couple of days later to say that although I have potential, though no fault of my own, they don’t think my lack of transport is ideal given that the days are long and early starts and they don’t want me having to relay on people to help me get there. Ah well, at least I’m getting paid for my four hours down on the farm. Back to the drawing board then. However, I do feel like luck will come my way at some point soon.  This week though, I am looking forward to hopefully a more productive week of blogging, editing, tidying, scheduling and job applying, as well as working out. No more talk, it’s time for action.

Catch Ups.

This week I got two weeks off again, which has been nice.  One of those days, I managed to organise a last minute planned trip into Exeter again with my friend Sophie.  I left slightly later than planned and ended up literally power walking/running in places all the way to the train station and got on the train. Just. It pulled up just as I got to the station. Which turned out to be me literally legging it up and over the steps and the bridge. As good timing as it was, I couldn’t really appreciate it as I ended up being a right sweaty mess. Gross. Why do I do these things to myself? Lol. We had a nice day making future plans to do with career possibilities and house sharing, taking a few photographs with my camera – just like old times. Sophie and I did GCSE Photography together many years ago and even managed to have a really nice meal with 50% off the final bill. Boom.

We also had a mooch, I bought two books for £5 as I couldn’t resist buying even more books. Also, I have wanted to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower for years. I also got excited looking at these noodles that I used to buy all the time in Coles in Australia, in these Chinese corner shops as Sophie was looking for something for her boyfriend.
It was a really nice day, the only downside was the horrible person who left chewing gum on my seat on the train. I hope karma gets you.

C_Z94XvXgAA_SGu.jpg
To the person who left chewing gum on my train seat. I hate you. You vindictive, spiteful fucker.

I also had a nice afternoon/early evening with my old football team mate Nicole, which was about six weeks overdue thanks to work messing me around and changing my rota last minute without informing me. We went to Mcdonalds where I ate a McChicken sandwich, six nuggets, a 99p cheese burger and nearly two packs of medium fries, because I was hungry and had lots of vouchers. We also had a quick cider in Spoons, which Nicole kindly bought for me, and then we went to watch Guardians of the Galaxy 2, which as slightly odd, like the first one, but I did enjoy the soundtrack, special effects and Baby Groot was adorable. Oh and we got a photo with a cardboard cut out of Zac Efron.

Netflix

Once again, I have watched a lot of Gilmore Girls this week. I even downloaded the theme tune this week off iTunes – Carol King’s – I will Follow. On a rare night off, or an early finish from work, mum and I fit in a couple of episodes after dad has gone to bed and she said that she has gotten into it slightly too. I’m now on season four, which is fun.

Reading.

I have really gotten back into reading recently and it’s been really nice to snuggle up in my new puffy ‘cloud covered in elephants,’ and finish my dad lost in a world of paper, letters and ink as apposed to the bright light of my now broken iPhone, which is addictive as hell anyway. I have also really enjoyed starting my morning with a book and a coffee before continuing my morning routine of a couple of episodes of Gilmore Girls and another coffee.

C_eLdYpXcAE0eRc.jpg
I love my new bedding.

I made the best decision to put an old duvet under the bed sheet for extra comfort. I finished my last book – The Undomesticated Goddess, the other night, so now I’m now on my new book, Dead to Me, which is actually partly set in my hometown, just up the road from me.

C_eLif6XYAAUQtw.jpg
A couple of my new books that I have gotten in the past week or so.

Extras.

My phone has been doing my head in all week, in fact I haven’t had much luck with Apple or technology in general with 1000 odd purchased songs and albums not showing up in my iTunes. One successful phone call to an Apple guy sorted out out that problem though. Basically my phone decided to not turn on all day one day, then it decided one day to re-set itself in the middle of the road when I was on my way to work and I couldn’t use it for the whole of my shift until I came home and could connect to my wifi. It’s now not working at all sadly, it turns on with the white light and Apple logo, and then turns off again. So yes I am not a big fan of Apple this week.

This week I have also signed up to vote, which is very important. Last week I had received a letter in the post to say I had a postal vote, which is an option that I had selected for uni. Which meant that my vote was going to be sent to my old University house, so as I don’t live there, that would have been a wasted vote. So I ended up phoning my local council, where I was put on hold for ages. Which I hate by the way.  For the record that phone call was a waste of time when all I needed to do was go on the gov uk website and change my details, which I have done now so woo. I also got a ‘lovely’ letter from ‘Theresa May’, which contained some great examples of a sense of comradeship and some bitchy comments about Jeremy Corbyn. Cute attempt to gain my vote, but it’s a waste of time. I HATE the Tories. It’s now in the recycling box.

Liverpool.

The past few weeks have been frustrating and nervy for me because I know what Liverpool is like. We only had to win our remaining four games, and top four would have been guaranteed. Of course, it’s Liverpool so you can never trust them to do the job, at least without making it difficult for themselves and taking us supporters on one hell of an emotionally nerve-wracking journey. After last week’s horrible scrappy game, where Southampton basically shut up shop for 90 minutes and we dropped two points, we were let off the hook by Arsenal beating scummy Man United and shutting up their horribly arrogant fans. So I haven’t really enjoyed the last few weeks as a Liverpool fan. Anyway, as I am writing this, we just beat Westham 4-0 so I am buzzing. I do really love my boys. Now for Spurs to beat the Man United scums and I shall be very happy.

Anyway, now to have another quick kick around with my nephew Will and to get ready for a couple of hours at work.

So yes, usual ending to this blog. I plan on going through my blog and tidying this rambly mess up, adding in the photos etc. So no judging for the time being. This blog is a work in progress.

Until next time,
Love, hugs and pugs.

Sunday Summaries|Lots of drunk farmers, cancelled plans and one banging Chinese and bubble bath.

As I wrote on my previous Sunday Summaries posts, once again this blog post shall be more of a wing it situation and we’ll see where I can go from here.

As I have failed to get any blog posts up on a Sunday for the whole of March, shocking I know, I have decided to do one big March summary for an up and coming post so keep an eye out. Also, ironically I have had four weeks of half written up posts for each week’s Sunday Summaries. So I did make an effort, I guess I just didn’t follow through. Also, I have plans to go through my blog, tidy up, shorten, change and edit posts and the lay out within the next few weeks, so bare with me for the crappy, messy blog, for the time being at least.

This week’s blog covers the month of March starting: April 17th 2017 to the 23rd.

This week has been quite long, or it feels like that anyway in terms of work, in fact I made a joke with one of the girls about how it feels like I haven’t properly slept since I started working there. I mentioned on this week’s Hit and Miss List about the lack of food, crappy grumpy customers and lots of drunk farmers, but it certainly has felt like a long week this week. Also my feet has been killing recently, just from being on my feet a lot. 😛

Like for example, on the Sunday last week,  it was stupidly busy to the point that none of us bar staff got to eat our dinner – Rock hard, cold lasagne wasn’t the most appealing thing at 11pm after I was given it around 8pm. In fact, I was getting more and more grumpy as the night went on and really had to reign it in, especially with children, running around my feet and rude, impatient people. I mean, is it just me, or is there some really rude people in this world? For example, just because I’m working, doesn’t mean you can treat me like crap, like the people who very dismissive, after I have politely asked them if they have any empty or finished drinks like they are more important than me. I also had someone close the door in my face, and left me struggling to open the door with a heavy tray of glasses. There was also this very arrogant, impatient, rude man, that I wanted to throw his drink all over him at the bar. Come on people, manners don’t cost much.  A very generous and very drunk man did tip me a tenner that night though, which was nice. I got very confused though. I ended up coming in the next morning early, off the back of not a lot of sleep as I promised Yuko that I would come in early the next morning at 11 to help her finish tidying up as we still had so much to do at the end of the night, and that was after we’d stayed half an hour later to try and finish everything up. Extra money, being helpful and learning how to do the day time stuff is always a bonus, so what is eye bags anyway?

Two coffees helped me immensely the next morning, and dad had kindly given me a lift in, which gave me more time to get to work without having to power walk down the streets of the Bay off the back of not a lot of sleep. Working early was rather funny actually. I also saw the staff canteen for the first time today and got free chicken & potato. Another thing I did, was discover that I really need to get back in the gym because that was a lot of effort running around lifting shit and what not. Sadly though I couldn’t finally get my work  membership card so that I can finally get my flabby arse back in the gym, because the place was shut due to it being a bank holiday.
I also got to leave work half an hour early, which turned out to be a good thing because I didn’t get to eat again as one of the chefs didn’t give me the food I asked for, when I was trapped at the bar serving customers and couldn’t get any food for myself.

Two coffees down. No one will suspect how tired I actually am.  ‪#Secret (Insert pic).

This week at work I was complimented on my dancing twice – once with my work pal Jess when we were fucking around dancing behind the bar and were apparently hilarious to watch, and also the night that I was kicking ass doing the Macarena and this guy told me I was wasted behind the bar haha. I always knew I was secretly Beyonce in disguise. 😉

This week it’s the weekend that the Young Farmers come down to the Bay and just get drunk and let loose all weekend. I’m going to be honest,  as a local, I have always been sceptical of them and try avoid town for the whole weekend. But, having met them, they’re really nice, hard working and enjoying having a rare weekend off to have fun. Who am I to judge really? plus, they work really hard and bring some much needed funds to the town. It meant that I had to work odd hours this week, which has changed a few times much to my disapproval, but more on that in a sec. Plus I got a hat, had a laugh, served them a shit load of random drinks, including lot of pints, vodka, other spirits and expensive rounds of shit loads of Smirnoff Ice at 10am. Let’ sjust say, Young Farmers weekend has been surprisingly lots of fun.

Other than a busy week at work, which ranged from super busy and super slow with nothing in between, nothing much interesting really happened in all honesty. It was a week of work and a lack of productivity. Oh and a few baths and Netflix sessions.

I did have a lovely afternoon and evening at Babs with my friends Lydia, Liv and Lydia’s beautiful guide dog Bertie on my only day off this week. This included a cider – my first in a while, lots of nattering and laughing, oh and several bad attempts of taking a decent selfie. Seriously I love hanging out with those two, well now three with Bertie. They’re hilarious, I was in tears from laughing.

(Insert pic here). Sunny skies, although cold and deceiving, pretty flowers, the first alcohol in ages and Bertie was so over photos.

I also topped off my great day off with a lovely bath, which left me feeling super soft and all kinds of sexy right now.  I was going to make mum dinner, but mum decided to have potatoes as I was still out and didn’t want to make her wait. So in the end, I left her some pasta, with lots of veggies that I had made for her dinner the next day instead.  I also managed to get lots of stuff like veggies and fresh basil in Waitrose for £2 something, which was a total bargain.

I wrote about this in my previous blog post, which you can find the link if you’re a nosy sod like I am, but I was really frustrated this week to come into work after my day off, and see that the rota had changed again and my hours had been changed from a day shift to a night shift, without asking me if it worked for me or not. Normally I don’t mind too much, but, it has been happening a lot and I had actually made plans for Friday evening, considering the rota goes up two weeks in advance. In fact, these particular plans had been changed multiple times in a few weeks because of the unexpected rota changes. So yes, I was pissed off, as also, it was Thursday and too late to change things. They might have apologised, but it was uncool. So instead of finishing work at two and popping into town with Nicole for Mcdonalds, cocktails and cinema, I was in work, wearing a straw-hat and laughing at a load of drunk farmers. I’m not complaining, but it would have been nice to have had a rare Friday night off and get paid too.

This week I have enjoyed having Netflix attached to the TV, I caught up with Riverdale, watched Almost Adults – which stars two of my favourite up and coming Actresses and enjoyed introducing mum to Gilmore Girls – which I showed her because they remind me of us, Mum did say that she was definitely Rory though as she would have taken a map on a road trip, as apposed to me being like fuck it, like Lorelai. I’ve also enjoyed spending this afternoon (Sunday) with my niece and nephew (Thomas, not Will), watching my new(ish) Moana and Finding Dory DVDs, whilst their eyes are transfixed to the TV.  In fact I have never heard them be so quiet. Don’t you just love Disney and Pixar.

This week on the 20th of April, TimeHop told me that it had been one whole year since I got to properly know Lotty and Cris, when we ate cheesecake in the woods, and went on our first road trip, climbed a tree, went food shopping and went to a fish and chip shop. So of course, one year on I had to video chat both Cris and Lot as I really miss both of them. Especially Lotty. It’s interesting as one year on, the three of us were all in different countries and continents. It was nice to video call Cris too, as it had been ages.

This week I have once again lacked in motivation to workout or blog, or organise, despite the fact that I have had plenty of blogging motivation, usually late at night after I finish work, it’s the effort though that counts. At least I tried. I managed a couple of blogs, and I shall be popping down to work in the next few days to finally get my card sorted out to use the gym and the pool, so there’s that. I also plan to really tidy up my blogs in the next few days/ weeks, mostly the layout and the content as I’m not overly pleased with it right now.  So I am looking forward to getting stuck into my blog in the next few weeks, so watch this space. I am also looking forward to getting some fitness and a banging body back.

Anyway, a Sunday roast and work (sadly) calls, so, for the time being at least, catch you later.

Love, Hugs and Pugs,

Keri. xo

PS, I shall be back to add in photos, tidy up this post, and probably include things about tonight’s shift if anything interesting happens, so no judging, for the time at least.

***

That roast dinner was beautiful by the way. *Insert pics*

For the record, I came home from work early in the end, around 8 because, although there were a few farmers potting about, they didn’t need three of us there. Having had a long week, and the fact that Yuko had apparently gone home early the night before, I was more than happy to leave early.  Also, I narrowly avoided a threesome with two farmers, so it was even more relieving to get to leave early. Boom. So, yes, it was nice to be home early, in my PJs, watching the TV with my parents – which is a rarity these days, I also managed to clear off a shit load of quotes off my phone, which was super needed, believe me. I would say two blogs, and quote clearing, as well as having some much needed family time, was a Sunday well spent.

Sunday Summaries|Grumpy customers, lunching in the sun, making a mess with cider and getting lamely excited looking at house ware items.

Also, ironically I have had four weeks of half written up posts for each week’s Sunday Summaries. So I did make an effort, I guess I just didn’t follow through.

This week’s blog covers the month of March starting: April 10th 2017 to the 16th.

In all honesty, this week hasn’t been all that spectacular. In fact, all I have really done is attempt to be productive in the day time, and pulled a fair few mildly successful attempts of pints of Carling. I had one day off this week too, which I am not complaining about, because hello money and also it’s quite funny working there, oh and the more I work, the more confident I get. So I really cannot complain too much I suppose.

This week, I have been motivated to write, although I am still definitely not on top form. I think I just really need to get myself into a proper routine, because I have a bit motivation, but I still lack that final push for a decent end product. It will come though, so I am feeling positive about getting myself back into a decent routine – blogging/writing/organising and scheduling content for my blog, website and soon mum’s social media content for her new mosaic business, oh and also tidying everything up. And also running/working out, swimming and gym. I just need to get my membership card sorted out from work so I can use the pool for free and the gym for £2 a session. I’ve been working there for a month now, so I finally qualify. Next week. I have a couple of day shifts, so hopefully I shall have my arse in gear real soon.

I managed to get a few blog posts written and posted up on here in time this week, which has been nice. I enjoyed splurging down my thoughts on this week’s Lazy Days and Thursdays, which you can read about here. That was actually ready on Monday, which meant I could relax a bit when it came down to getting work up. In fact it was therapeutic, as I wrote my thoughts down about a topic that had been slightly bothering me for a while. Adulting. I also got Saturday’s one up, on time, as well as an extra post and one on Hillsbrough on my other website, so I would say it was a mildly successful week. I also applied for a few jobs, even when a power cut  got in my way for about 15 minutes.

I was a little bit sad that I missed out on my weekly Sunday roast, given that I had to work on Sunday night. But, I didn’t miss out as I got to eat it on a Monday instead. I know it’s not quite the same, but, it still tasted grand.  I also missed out on my favourite Sunday bath sessions, so I made up for it on a Tuesday night on my day off, complete with a banging Spotify playlist, and a de-bearing session, I felt super fabulous afterwards.

Sunday roast. On a Monday. (Insert pics here.)

Actually Tuesday was the best day for me this week. I had a top start, lying on the sofa, with a coffee in my hand, wrapped in a duvet, finally getting my arse around to giving Downton Abbey a try. Happy days. I enjoyed a rather nice, late pub lunch in the sun, in a beer garden over looking the sea, which in my opinion is a rather British summer time thing.

Late pub lunch in the sun with Vango. (Insert pics.)

I also had a rather fun hour or so mooching around this shop called The Range. I got rather lamely excited (again), looking at home stuff. I’m not even a home owner right now. Honestly you should have seen the excitement I got over a spice rack and some duvet sets. Clearly I need to get on with my life so I can get my own place and really make it my own.

I also bought myself a cute, little jar so I can put my tip money in from work, as my purse was borderline obese from all the spare change I have gotten from work. I have decided that I am going to put it towards my planned weekly gym (and swim – which is free) sessions. I also got myself an organiser to start organising all my planned weekly blog posts for all my sites, so I can finally start getting all my scribbles and drafts up and displayed to my little corner of the internet. I also nearly bought one or both of photo frames so I can display photos of my time in Australia. (insert pic here.)

I also really liked this awesome elephant style bedding, I didn’t end up getting it though as I wasn’t sure whether my duvet was a king or a double. I shall probably be back one day next week to get stuff. It’s safe to say I am feeling inspired to change my room around, as it’s much needed. So yes, I had a top day off, like I said, I had the most awesome bubble bath, made myself some nice sweet and sour chicken and then sat down to watch my new Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them DVD with mum and dad, even if dad fell asleep half way through. Working nights means I have forgotten what it’s like to cook myself some dinner and actually be able to sit down and eat it. We get food at work, but it’s hard to eat it when we actually have a job to do. I usually get indigestion from walking around and shovelling food quickly into my gob in between serving people drinks. Also, the food is usually cold. Hard life haha.

This week I also had a few of those days where I wasn’t sure if I was productive or not? Do you ever have one of those days? I’m talking about the whole, did I or did I not waste a day by my lack of productivity? Like it’s one of the most frustrating feelings when it gets to a certain point in the day,  in my case, when I have to start getting ready for work, and I started questioning myself. However, I have finally started, in between saving more, cutting down on stored quotes on my phone, which I seem to be obsessed with at the moment. To the point where my phone is almost full of storage capacity and I’m annoy myself. It’s a good way to start your day off motivation wise though. I really love powerful quotes, reading quotes in the morning complete with a coffee has the effect of inspiring me to take on the world with my words and my thoughts.

This week I had the usual video call/daily facebook messages conversations with Lotty, which is always nice. I love the fact that despite the fact that I am now 8 hours behind time wise, on the other side of the world and on a completely different continent, that Lot and I have still maintained daily contact, because we were really close. I know it’s not the same as seeing her every day, and I’m sure it might cut down at some point, but for the time being, I am just really appreciating being able to chat to her, like old times. Sort of. This week though, the dry season is starting back up at Lake A and Lot has been VERY busy,  especially with it being Easter today, so we haven’t chatted as much as we were this week, which is understandable. It’s coming up to a year since we met on the 19th, so I actually sent her a funny Moonpig card this week, which was an idea I randomly came up with whilst sat on the toilet at work.

This week my little nephew Will made it into the Under 7s (?) TUFC academy, which is adorable. He’s absolutely besotted with the beautiful game, which is great because it means that I will always have a little mate to have a kick around with whenever he’s around. 🙂 In fact I enjoyed a quick kick around with him and dad in the garden before I had work. It’s also really fun having someone to chat football with, as he’s getting me back into being interested in all things football like old times, as apposed to just following Liverpool and the teams around them.

This week I finally started putting my wages from work off my card into my ISA savings account. Not that I didn’t want to before, but I finally got around to it. It’s not much, but it’s a start. I have already made plans for once I have that desired banging salary job as to what to do with my money, like saving for the future and learning to drive mostly. I have probably mentioned this a fair amount, but I am so ready to start adulating, getting a decent job and saving. I also want to learn how to budget and start paying my parents back.

Work wise this week, it’s been rather fun. In all honesty I am starting to rather enjoy working there, it’s not a main thing, or a forever thing. But, I enjoy it and the people are great. Although this week it’s been quite confusing in terms of the rota changing again, and seemingly a lot. Also this week’s guests have been a bit of a grumpy bunch. There’s been one or two nice ones though. I guess the hardest part is having to get ready in the evening when everyone else’s working day is over. I enjoyed hiding in the cupboard with Jess, hiding from who Jess reckoned was the head chef, and eating chicken gorgons, chip and beans and also dancing to Big Fish Little Fish behind the bar, during the late night kid’s disco, also with Jess. I also had a laugh with Yuko a lot this week, narrowly avoided working something like 11 days straight, not that I suppose I would have moaned too much, but it was nice of Jaz to point that out and offer to do that shift for me so I could have a night off, especially with the dreaded Young Farmers down next weekend. I also got to man the other bar one night all by myself, which is something I haven’t done yet. That was pretty sweet, although it was kind of busy as apparently the other bar that I normally work at in the main lounge, so people were coming to me for drinks. I also made a mess with the cider as the pump wouldn’t stop, the drip tray over flowed and there was cider all over the floor – oops!

I really enjoyed having a lazy Saturday, before work. I usually try and be productive in the day before work, but it’s nice to give myself a bit of a chill session from time to time. Especially given that I only had one day off this week anyway.  I managed to wash and dry my hair, drink a frothy coffee, make a banging colourful stir-fry, I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them again with dad, well kind of, I also mooched around on my phone and what not.  I also managed to connect the wifi onto our TV, which meant that I could get the Netflix button on the remote to work. Winning. Boom. I ended up on a 90s throwback hype watching Pokemon. Which I’m not shamed to admit because it was just background noise whilst I blogged. You see, I want to watch TV shows on Netflix and give it my full attention. I’m looking forward to having a few binging sessions in the the next few weeks with various shows that I need to catch up with, like Gilmore Girls, Pretty Little Liars, Orange is The New Black, Riverdale etc. By the way, it’s interesting rewatching the old original Pokemon, the one I loved as a kid, because in all honesty, it’s actually really bad haha. I will still probably watch it from time to time, just because.

I also managed to write a couple of blogs yesterday, including one spontaneous one an hour or so before I had to start getting ready for work and another one, which you can read on my new website, on the subject of Hillsbrough, which I wrote once I got home from work, so I was pretty proud of myself considering I was having a lazy day. I also made notes last night for this blog too, so I would say yesterday over all was pretty successful.

I also watched Liverpool scrape 3 points against a tough to break down West Brom side, which was a scrappy game from start to finish. I hate playing West Brom, it works for them, but their playing style makes it rough to watch. Anyway, 3 points, a clean sheet and no injuries. Now to go and have a kick around with the nephew, hopefully watch Man United lose, or at least draw, and then off to work until Midnight. Fun times eh! I’m just kidding. Work really isn’t all that bad.

Anyway, until next time.

Love, hugs and pugs,

PS I shall be back to tidy up this post with pictures and what not and a quick update on tonight’s shift most likely, so no judging for the time being.
