The Weekly Hit and Miss List. #18

Hey there,

So just to start off, I’ve been a big fan of reading multiple blogs where people state their weekly favourites for some time now and I’ve been wanting to start my own weekly summaries for a while. I started one draft in November, which actually didn’t work out with timings and stuff and never got finished or posted. Which is probably a good thing given how late in the year I was trying to start something. As it’s now 2017, I’m going to give this one a real good crack.

I have decided to narrow it down into three things that I am finding to be a hit this week and three things which are a miss this week, just like the kind of things you often find in magazines.

I apologise for the lack of blogs and failing to get planned blogs up on the scheduled or planned day. Hopefully next week shall be more productive, so watch this space.

So without further ado:

(Week starting /8/4/17)

Hit:

1|My new Liverpool shirt.

The other week Liverpool and New Balance released images of next season’s special 125 year home shirt for Liverpool Football Club’s 125 year birthday. Now years ago I was one of those football fanatics that not only had to own every kit per season, but also, live in it.  In recent years though, I stopped buying shirts and kits so frequently as they seemed to be getting more and more expensive, as well as I no longer wanted to be known as that little tomboy who lived in Liverpool kits.  Needless to say, I needed to get the special shirt,  as well as it was just so darn nice. So, on the release day I trekked down into town in the pissing down rain, questioning my life choices and dedication and forked out £40. It’s the bee’s knees, so I really don’t mind. I’m just thankful that I am rather short as I saved £20 buying a 13 year-old size top, as apposed to the adult sizes, so there’s that.

2| Books.

I included this in last week’s list too, so I won’t delve into too much detail. Sadly my social life is pretty much none existent right now, so it’s nice that I am still able to go on adventures, only in the form of words and pages. I have read about three books in the past few week or so and I have really enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the book – Dead To Me, by a local author called Lesley Pearse, and it was interesting to finally get to read The Perks of Being a Wallflower, as I enjoyed the film and have always wanted to read the book.

3| My *other* new iPod.

I have always been a fan of the big classic 160gb iPods and have been a for a good few years. In fact my iPod has been one of my favourite possessions ever since I bought a second hand one on the whim from a second hand shop in town about six years ago. However, when my MacBook crashed and I lost all 15,000 odd songs and was unable to update my iPod after a year of traveling around Australia (I had all this new music and I was desperate to put it on there), I realised that I would probably have to buy a new one in order to keep all my music in tact. I picked one up at the same second hand store a couple of weeks ago, and have finally managed to get around to updating it after a battle with my iTines. It’s not quite up to scratch yet, but it’s getting there and it’s nice to be able to listen to music which takes me back to a time in Australia. Over the up and coming months, I am looking forward to finally getting my iTunes back on track and having lots of banging new playlists, to go with my all time favourite original iPod. Oh and for the record Harry Style’s new album isn’t too shabby.

Miss:

1|Busy week at work.

I feel exhausted with a capital E this week. This weekend we’ve had a really big group of Skittles players staying in the hotel. That means lots of alcohol has been consumed, and everyone’s got long hours. Of course, I’m not complaining as money and hours are good, but I do feel very tired. At least I have the 3am finish out of the way now, as I have been wanting to get it out of the way all week. After tomorrow’s morning/early afternoon shift, I have a fairly easy week for the next week or so, so at least I can catch up on some much needed sleep.

2| Rain.

To be honest, it’s not the rain that I don’t like actually. I actually really enjoy being in the house when it’s lashing down and is all dark outside. It just makes me feel all cosy and snuggly. Especially when I don’t have to go out anywhere. But, here’s the thing,  when it rains, and I have to leave the house  for work, but all I want to do is get snuggly, wrap myself up and hibernate, well it’s not easy.

3| Lack of motivation.

This seems to be a reoccurring theme on here, so I won’t delve too much into it, and I should probably do something. But, honestly I really annoy myself at how much I lack the motivation to be productive, despite all the ideas and inspiration. Mum touched up upon this tonight when she said “You’re exhausted from working in the bar and it’s effecting the productivity to apply for jobs.” Vicious cycle. But, I shall be doing something about this in the next few weeks.

So there you have it, three things I’m digging and three things I’m not digging this week. Hopefully my life will still be slightly exciting in one way or another now that I am back in England for the time being. I know it’s not quite Australia, but I will enjoy every day, I mean after all, life is meant to be enjoyed.

I’m planning on scheduling a weekly hit and miss list every Saturday. Let’s see how long this lasts for.

See you next Saturday. 😉

Love, hugs and pugs.

Keri. xo
