Honestly, trying to get two of these up, once a week on a Sunday on different blogs AND make them slightly different is harder than you think.
Out of interest, as of today I have ten days left up here, which means that I am in the final day of double digits. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone and I plan to make the most of the rest of my time for out here and in Australia (for this time).
This post covers from the 23rd-29th Jan 2017.
So just to start off, I’ve been a big fan of reading lots of blog features where people talk about their week and what they’ve been up to for some time now and I’ve been wanting to start my own Sunday summaries on this blog for a while now a
Now because I have been pretty much doing weekly summaries of my time in Australia on my other blog here, since I flew out to Australia last February, I’m trying to rack my brain as to how I can make this work on both blogs (for the next couple of months whilst I’m still out here), without being overly similar or repetitive. So like I wrote on my previous Sunday Summaries post, once again this blog post shall be more of a wing it situation and we’ll see where I can go from here.
Sunday Summary |Four:
This week, like my previous few weeks out here has mainly consisted of me exploring, taking a fair few photographs, hunting for waterfalls, chilling out a lot, cooking, getting into new TV shows, swimming and catching up with people. I was hoping to get a few hours of work in up here, but sadly I’m not really needed with there already being enough staff. Also the resort is very quiet with it being the wet season so I wouldn’t have much work anyway. For the record, you can read some of my adventures here:
Sadly, just like last week’s installment, a few weeks ago I wrote that I was feeling really inspired to wake up early, work-out and actually eat breakfast. Well all three of those once again, haven’t really happened this week. A few days ago I had a very sore back, which was random, although it might have had something to do with being hurdled around a bumpy boat the day before. So I haven’t wanted to work-out, well I have, but I have avoided working-out the past few days so that I can let my back properly recover. Saying that though, I haven’t been all that motivated to work-out this week anyway, which sucks. I definitely do need to sort out a proper routine soon. Big up to Lotty for being top and rubbing my muscle heat over my back by the way, that helped a lot. I’d like to blame my period and also the fact that I haven’t been sleeping overly great over the past couple of nights for the lack of inspiration or dedication. However, I have been writing a lot over the past week or so, which is incredibly liberating. Also I am still drinking a lot of water, which is good. Oh and for the record, my period finally buggered off, which means I can go swimming again. Yay.
This week I found myself back out on a lake, only this time with waterfalls, having the best time with Ruth and Matty, who sadly went back home to Queensland this week, so that might be the end of the waterfalls and adventures, at least the more daring kind. I’m sure I can still fit in a couple more adventures in whilst I’m still out here. You can read more about my adventure in greater detail here by the way.
But yeah, I spent the late morning and early noon up on the lake on a boat among waterfalls with Ruth and Matty and it was glorious.
The lake is definitely one of my favourite places in the whole world even in the rain, and when I say rain, I am talking about the very wet kind of rain.
By the way, I got absolutely drenched by rain, and I’m not exaggerating here. As fun as it was, it was so nice to get back home afterwards, strip off my t-shirt which had stuck to me, have a hot shower and put a big hoody on afterwards as I had started shivering.
In summary, I had a great day and a lot of fun on the boat, which was free by the way, followed by a hot shower, food, hoodie, sweats, coffee and Trolls, which is a fun film let’s be honest. As I wrote in my weekly hit and miss list here, it really was one of this week’s main highlights. I’ll definitely miss my random adventures with Matty as he seems to be the only one out here who really does love a good challenge.
This week it has been, well I think it’s been anyway, a fairly successful week blogging wise. I managed to write and schedule a lot of blogs – oh and even get them up on time, for a change! I don’t think I have managed that even once since the start of the year. So yes I have been fairly proud of myself. Once I have this one and my weekly updates on my other blog written up, I plan to start writing and scheduling for the next week now. I already have a plan for Monday’s Motivation and Lazy Days and Thursdays, so we shall see how successful I am in the upcoming week. I want to get them all smashed out as soon as possible though as Lotty has a fair few days off next week, and given that I have to leave Lake A for god only knows how long (hopefully not too long though), I want to have everything written up in advance, or as much as possible, so I can make the most of time with friends who I might not see for a while.
This week Lot and I had a fair few funny Wii sessions, like we normally do. I’m pretty sure Lot’s obsessed with the wii. She usually has the hand held dice part on next to her somewhere whenever we chill out in the house. It hasn’t happened as often though, although we seem to play it a lot at night, when it’s a lot harder to play when you’re half asleep or whatever. I think Lot’s quite proud of the fact that we have pretty much nearly completed Rayman now.
As usual Lotty and I have been cooking a lot this week. One night Lotty made the nicest home-made butternut squash soup, which was awesome. Butternut squash soup is one of my favourite kinds, and you can’t beat it when it’s home-made. I think it’s Lotty’s favourite too.
On Saturday night I attempted my first ever satay chicken, which wasn’t too shabby.
Other food this week:
Chef Kezza. It’s a shame it’s a little late haha.
Lotty and I teamed up to make a really nice stir-fry. Always fun. I did the veggies and Lot whipped it up.
Sadly my sleeping pattern has been really bad this week, I have really struggled to get to sleep easily and that’s even when I haven’t had any coffee after 1:30pm. There was even the night that I kept waking up in the middle of the night and thinking I was being choked/choking. Oh and even my wisdom tooth started hurting again as well, which probably didn’t help. One night I was kept up though, the thunder and lightening was spectacular, so it wasn’t all that bad I suppose. I’m looking forward to getting back into a regular routine again though.
This week my iPhone has been driving me nuts. If I turn it off, I have to re-set everything. I’m also logged out of all my social media accounts and can’t get back in to a lot of them.
Lotty and I watched a lot of American Horror Story and The L Word this week. Both have been SO good. Lotty and I got really into season three of American Horror Story, it was really sassy, Lotty said she was a fan of supernatural things and I really liked the characters, they were well written and a joy to watch. We managed to finish season three this week and get onto season four – Freak Show, which by the way I am really enjoying it. Saying that though, holy fuck that murderous clown is very freaky to watch right before bed. 😩😂 I think season four might actually be my favourite season. We have actually nearly finished it. I could watch American Horror Story allllll day. 🌧📺🔫☠
Lotty and I have also been watching a lot of The L Word this week too. Lotty was right when she said season four was the best, it’s so funny. I’m really enjoying the character development that has been going on throughout the seasons. We’re onto season five now, I’m hoping that it continues to be really good to watch.
I ‘experienced’ my first ever Australia Day, which having read more information about what that day means to Aboriginal people, I’m undecided how I feel about that day yet. As it turned out, that day wasn’t anything too special as the roads had been blocked all day, so no one could really get into the resort. There had been plans for a special BBQ and pool day here at the resort, but as there wasn’t really any guests, nothing really went ahead after all. Lotty was on call all day, which meant that she was around to hang out with, which is always nice. In the end she was only needed for the evening.
One day I had a really nice internet free couple of hours which included a magazine session and a nice panini for lunch at work, made by Lotty. 👌 I enjoy going internet free from time to time, as I am definitely addicted to the internet. I also really enjoy getting lost in a magazine. Actually I read quite a few interesting articles that day, which has inspired some potential writing ideas in the future. From online child pornography and the dark world -some of those statistics were shocking in the magazine I was reading at work. In fact even Lotty picked up a copy of the article after me and said she wouldn’t mind reading that properly at some point. It was interesting. I also read some stuff on the Marie Claire website which included articles on daughter’s who’s dad’s are serial killers, a woman who shared a husband with her mum, one on Japanese women driven mad by their society’s high standards and not being accepted into the clicks cool mum club – who go on to kill the other’s Mum’s ‘perfect’ kids. One on some fucked up boyfriend who killed his ex’s father because he could no longer control her and finally a lady who married a rapist without realising.
Going back to the day I gave myself the day off from the internet, Lot had the day off so we had some coffee and attempted to hit town and succeeded. Although there were a few nervous moments with Lot trying to get through a few biggish puddles. But we made it and back. It was funny because, as we were half way up the road, we were both like, maybe we should have packed an over night bag just in case. But anyway, we got to town and had some lunch in the pub, these banging, huge burgers. 🍔 That defeated both of us. Even me. 😄 Then we got a few bits from Coles and for once didn’t go over board. It was nice to stock up on a few bits and bobs though. Happy days. We also found these Australian flag towels in Coles for Australia days for $10. Only they were down to $2.50 at the tills And then headed back home, about 3 hours later. Which was nice. We then went swimming, which was a good laugh. We even used our new towels. Swimming was such a laugh by the way. My ball went over the side, again. Lot took her phone in, which was risky business, and we took loads of funny pics.
Being a Liverpool fan this week has been ‘fun’…😒 It has NOT been a good week results wise for my boys. After we played two scrappy FA Cup third round games against Plymouth, and narrowly scraped our way into the fourth round tie Vs Wolves, we lost 2-1 to them and bowed out in the fourth round. We also lost to Swansea in the league last week, which was shocking, and I was so pissed off afterwards. Oh and finally we lost 1-0 in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup to Southhampton as well. Just to make things worse, we could have played (and beaten) the Manc scums at Wemberley in the cup final. I will be supporting Southampton in the final. It looks like we’ve hit our dodgy patch for this season. Hopefully it won’t effect us too much and we can start getting back to winning ways again, because after such a great start, I’d hate to see us throw it all away at the crucial business end of the season.
Anyway, that’s all for now folks. Keep an eye out for up-coming blogs on here within the next few days or so. I’m determined to be more time organised.
Anyway, bye for now.
Love, hugs and pugs
Oh and for the record, it’s Sunday evening. I had such a lovely morning with Lotty, doing stupid and fun quizzes and playing phone charades for hours. Next up, I am going to finish up my weekly summaries blog on my other blog, prepare dinner and maybe hang out with Lotty if she’s up for hanging out after she finishes work.
